The Zen Nihon Batto Do Renmei (ZNBDR) is organized of member martial arts organizations that practice Batto Do, focusing primarily on Tameshigiri (test cut using the Japanese sword). It is governed by a council of officers elected from the members of the participating organizations.
The ZNBDR was founded with the aim of promoting mutual friendship and improving technical skills among various martial arts groups, including different dojo of Batto Do and practitioners of Koryu (traditional style) Iaido, by gathering together across the boundaries of Ryuha (technique style). We also aim for the further dissemination and development of Batto Do. To achieve these goals, the ZNBDR has established its own Kata (forms) and Tameshigiri standards, and carries out activities such as conducting Title and Dan rank examinations and certifications, and holding seminars/workshops and competitions.
